@Amy, My parents bought this machine for me in 1956 for my 16th birthday. The receipt I saw said 457.00. So I don’t know where they got the price that is posted in the article. Mine was bought in a small sewing machine shop in Iowa. Then in the 1980’s I was told by a repairman never to sell it, as it was the last of the Singers with all metal parts and that repairmen did something in the bobbin area to make it sew knits easier/better. I loved the machine, it served me well for over 40 years. I won’t part with it. It’s kinda been in storage for a few years and I’m going to take it in and have it serviced.
